Winter months (November to February) are perfect for exploring tea gardens, national parks, and cultural festivals like Hornbill in Nagaland

Introduction

Northeast India is a culturally rich and naturally stunning region made up of eight states—Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, and Sikkim—often called the “Seven Sisters” and “One Brother.” Known for its lush green hills, cascading waterfalls, tea gardens, and diverse wildlife, the region offers some of the most pristine and unexplored landscapes in the country.

Home to hundreds of ethnic groups and tribes, Northeast India boasts vibrant festivals, traditional music, and unique handicrafts that reflect its deep-rooted heritage. The cuisine is equally diverse, featuring flavors influenced by local produce, herbs, and spices, with dishes like momos, bamboo shoot curries, and smoked meats.

Whether it’s exploring the living root bridges of Meghalaya, the tea estates of Assam, the monasteries of Sikkim, or the colorful Hornbill Festival of Nagaland, Northeast India promises an experience filled with natural beauty, cultural richness, and warm hospitality.
